Like Jim, this is a new one on me, but I will take this into consideration
for the future. I have always associated the silent.000 set file with self
voicing applications and have never had any problems using them. As for a
hot key to reload window-eyes to do certain functions like lists in the
application, does self voicing not stretch to this, and if not them its not
really self voicing, is it?

Thank you for the information. I myself have not seen a self voicing
application that requires this. However, I will keep this in mind for future
reference.

it depends on the running program.

like if you can only find and click on a button with the mouse. you could
still use a hot key or setup a cursor key to move the mouse to a window
where a button is and click on it useing a hot key you have setup. but if
the hot keys are turned off in the general menu like the silent set file is
your new hot keys would also be disabled and would not work. with only the
voice off you would still have any hot key you setup

you could even use a hot key to load another set file with speech on if you
needed if there is part of the screen or a pull down menu where you need w e
speech to access them.

you just have alot more options if the hot keys and cursor keys are still
on.

Ok and if you turn off the voice for this program what on earth would be the
point of the keys? It is not like they are going to speak.

Sorry I am not getting this one.

unlike openbook, i doubt the self talking programs mentioned would be
useing the w e or jaws keyboard layout.

the silent set file disables everything. you can not use the mouse hot keys
like mouse to cursor , cursor to mouse, the mouse clip keys , the w e search
option if you need it etc.

if you open the current set file associated with the program and only turn
off the voice in the general menu all the hot keys would still be active.

And why wouldn't you want thyis in all self voicing programs. I mean if you
turn off the voice you are not going to want keyboard conflicts right?

all you have to do is open the set file your programs are useing and go to
the general menu and turn off the voice. then save the set file.

you do not want to use the silent.000 set file. it is setup for openbook and
all of the hot keys and short cut keys are disabled so they do not conflict
with openbook.

Hi

You need to run your self voicing application then enter the window-eyes
control panel. Open the set file silent.000 and then associate this set
file with your running application.

I know it has probably been covered before, but I have a few
self-voicing programs that wineyes just wants to talk along with, and
i can't find me a way to tell it to be quiet and let the other
program talk all by it's lonlies.

Any ideas?

Thanks much, lou
