Sandra Each brand, in addition to what Steve has already mentioned in chaning models, also has numerous model lines and models within a given model line. So unless someone was specific to the nth degree, singling out a manufacturer as being good or bad may not necessarily be that useful when one buys something.
I also wonder, in these discussions, how important to these speech problems is the synthesizer or synthesizers in use both software and hardware ones. When I think about all this, perhaps we should be amazed that WE (or any other screen reader for that matter) works as well as they do. Given that pcs and software are a moving target, I doubt that we will ever see perfection here. Our experience determines our persuasion.
