Yes I am aware of this. I just like doing it as an image because all I have to
do is mount the image using power iso and it runs exactly as it would from the
cd.
Thanks though.

Hi Jim,

Just to clarify, it is not actually necessary to store your Window-Eyes disk as
an image.
Copying the entire root folder and all its subfolders of the disk to a folder
will suffice and allow you to run the setup from there.

Hth,

Rod

Hi,
Ok I have seen all the hoopla on this subject. I just don't get it. I have my
window-eyes 9.0 cd.
I used it once. I used it to make a backup image of the disk, just in case
something happens to it. this way if something does happen to it, I will not
be spending the 20 bucks to have it replaced. I think GW micro in the past
called it protecting your investment. For this version of the software though
having a cd is not imperative.

I do think though in times to come a cd is a out moded means of software
delivery. The problem here is not the mail. The problem quite frankly is
fewer computers are coming with the device. For example when I wanted to get
window-eyes on my venue I used power iso to mount the image I had maid of my
8.0 cd and installed it that way. if I had not maid such an image I would have
had to use another computer to make the image or copy the files to a temp
folder where I could then install the software. Now what happens if I don't
have another computer handy to perform this task? Well I guess I would be out
of luck. Wile I don't understand the fuss being maid here I do think that a
better method of software delivery needs to be explored and provided.

While I am on this subject I would love to see a phone running windows 10 that
will run window-eyes. If Microsoft or one of its partners doesn't put out
such a device I would be a sad boy. I love windows and want to use it on all my
devices. Now really people lets talk about something real important. An
example is this. What can we do to help the Window-eyes staff get more windows
universal apps working with window-eyes? Maybe a bard app that I could use on
my pc would be nice. Maybe Asquared could make such an app? I would pay for
it. if that would allow me to read bard books from my windows devices.

I want to close buy thinking Doug and his staff for all the hard work that went
in to bringing us another wonderful version of window-eyes. I will be getting
myself the nuance vocalizer expressive voices soon.
I will also be renewing my smaa soon as well. I got this copy on the LTO
system and it is worth it to me to keep up my investment.

Vaughan,

Okay, I do believe we both agree that there was no immediate need for the 9.0
CD as the upgrade worked fine and that the CD will arrive as per our
obligation. (smile)

Thanks for that clarification.

As for this not being an acceptable 21st century solution, that's up for
debate. I understand your frustration and if you sent me an email saying you
would lose your job today if you didn't have your 9.0 CD, believe me, I'd make
your 9.0 CD available immediately for download.
I'm just not prepared to say we'll do this 100 percent of the time for
100 percent of our users.

Doug
