Hello. The general firmware for the Sense notetakers is free. However the SenseNav program is not only a HIMS product, but also a Sendero product. This means that there are more than just HIMS involved. So the short answer is, I don't know what if any charge there will be. If there is a charge, I don't know what that charge will be. I can tell you that the new firmware of the Sense notetaker will come with the newer SenseNav as part of the firmware. So if you will be sticking with the 2007 version of it, you will need to install it. We suspect that 99% of the users of the current, outdated SenseNav will want to upgrade even if there is a cost and so this may not be an issue for most.
As we know more, we will pass along information. Many thanks.
