Although in fairness to both HIMS and GW Micro, any comments made at this
point are little more than gratuitous gas (including what I shall say
below -- grin) since we are all proceeding on absolutely *no* information, I
aver that if HIMS service doesn't live up to the deserved reputation GW
Micro has built up for its tech support and the like, we'll end up with
virtually *no* note-taking devices other than, say, full-fledged laptops
that will be marketed with decent tech support. For my part, I'll keep my
Braille Sense Plus as I can't afford to buy anything else at the moment
(oral surgery is expensive) and, as I said above, what would I buy? FS and
HW both haven't the greatest rep insofar as customer relations go at the
moment. (grin)

I'm not speechless very often but I am now! I've called GW Micro for help
getting out of situations with my Braille Sense original and always
received
excellent help and the reps have endless patience. They need to have
endless patience when I call, LOL! The fact that GW Micro was giving
support to Hims products played a big part in my decision to get my BS. I
could go on but I won't.

I suspected something like this was happening when I heard about a friend
of
mine going to their new Texas office a few weeks ago.

Hello. I am very shocked and disappointed as GW Micro is very helpful and
provided very good tech support.
We need to know if Hims will be providing tech support and if they will
set
up an email list for questions....

I am shocked as well.
I really like working with the people at gw whenever I've had issues
with my vs or syncbraille.
How will we obtain batteries or other accessories for our units and
how will we know when this office for hims is open?
Will hims have a record of who has which products or does each person
have to contact them with their info?

I'm shocked! I liked the tech support and list presence from GW
Micro. I hope the lists will continue under the new system.
The good thing I see is we will be able to communicate directly with
HIMS about our needs and wants for the Sense products.
I wonder where HIMS' new office will be located?
Again, I like working with GW Micro very much and I will miss their
presence!
