I haven't used Pootle yet so I can't say anything about it, but I am currently using a CAT program named OmegaT, it has quite a lot of features and can export to .tmx files, which can be import to Pootle, so we can use Pootle as a management system while the real translation job is done offline. OmegaT is an open source software and is written is java, therefor everyone should have no problem using it. It can be downloaded from here: http://www.omegat.org/en/omegat.html About needed features, I don't think google translate is neccessary, I often use StartDict to help me in translating, if there is anything that StarDict can't help, then I will just use wiktionary or google :) If I can request a feature, then the feature I needed is adding another tag for edited article, that way we can make sure the translation quality is good, and seperate translating from editing. Also we can also make a report system, so guest/everyone can report something that they think is translated incorrectly. I don't think it will be too hard to implement these features, the problem is: who will do it? :) I am still learning Python, and let an amater like me messing with a production system is a very bad idea.
