That's a nice case....but if I were to buy a new once, I'd get this one:

Antec 193 v3. That has a 200 mm side fan, two 140 mm top fans, two optional 120mm front fans, and has all of the noise lowering goodies. Plus a usb 3.0 port on the front. Not sure if an esata port would not be better, though.

Ok, I sort of see what you mean. While I like this case, the door opens to the wrong side (forcing me to rewire my entire home office!!)

But I do have this case (for my second desktop), which is also nice (but low end):

my problem with cases is that's a lot of case to pitch out. I do have enough extra stuff to build a third system (almost).

long in the tooth? What does that mean?

the only thing old fashioned about it is the lack of a side fan and lack of ugly.

Antec P182 was great back in the day but getting long in the tooth not to mention an old fashioned design.

It only has the side panel vent that my p182 doesn't have, otherwise they seem similar, though the p182 has sound proofing. I might add another in take fan at the front.

1-2 C isn't really a lot to worry about but yes your case has fairly poor ventilation. The Cooler Master HAF 912 that I just got from the Egg for $60 shipped is an awesomely ventilated case that is significantly better designed than my CM 690. I luv it!

What does it mean when I get about 1-2C less idle-core temps when my case is open (both sides removed) vs when my case is closed? Should it be the other way around? Does it imply the case is not properly vented?
