I think the views you guys are stating views that are very
short-sighted.....
I recently had a problem with my iPad 2. I got stuck in portrait mode.
Nothing I did could fix that (after consulting the various iPad
forums). The next morning I took it in to the Apple Store -- Genius
bar. Once, through their own testing, they established that the unit
was faulty, I had a brand new replacement. No hassles whatsoever. Name
another tablet where I can get that kind of service?
Service and support after the sale counts for a lot, in my book. Apple
doesn't play around in this regard. Have an issue with any other vender
and you're doing all kinds of crap sh*t trying to convince some support
rep in another part of the world with an accent you can make understand,
to get you RMA the unit. We'll see what kind of support is possible
with my Asus Transformer prime when it comes, or even with my Lenovo
Thinkpad X220t if it should develop problems.
I actually have a full-time job that has nothing to do with fixing
PCs...and I don't want to hassle getting my stuff fixed.

Sure, go ahead and spend 20-30% more for lesser hardware & smaller
screen.
I give Apple credit - they've done a great job of convincing people
they should spend more for less.
