yes, we already have a character attribute 'language'. More precisely spoken, we have three character attributes 'language' simultaneously. Which of the three attributes (one for 'Western', one for CJK, and one for CTL text) is chosen to be the active one (e.g., for spell checking) depends on the Unicode range the characters are in.
