Not sure if your 'offtopic' tags referred to the whole question of 'undo'
capability in other tools (which it was, offtopic that is), or
specifically to the puppet links you provided.  But 'rollback' in terms of
transactions, that is, 'undo' when a given set of actions can't complete
successfully, is a different problem than the original questioner had,
which was whether cfengine could 'undo' a given set of actions.  The
discussion there though illustrates the complexity of undoing actions,
even in what should be the simplest, most feasible case, that of undoing
actions at essentially the time they are made.
