I use paint stirrer sticks (free from HD).

2 sticks taped loosely to the door. & one on the jam. Leave about 3/8"
clearance between the sticks & hexayurt. Have one larger paint stick
(still free) to act as a sliding latch. When I'm gone the stick-latch
is on the outside of the yurt holding the door closed. When I'm inside
and need some privacy the stick-latch is on a similar setup on the
inside of the yurt.

You can do door handles with a stick taped with maybe 3/4" clearance.
