Wow, that was a great explanation. Even for me and i am visual learner with couple of very dull crayons in the box. I definitely think this is the latch type i'll use with for my 8' hexayurt. I'm pretty keen on the mitered edge style of door that seals it self. I also want to be able to open it from both sides as there will be multiple people using the yurt at a time. As i'm writing this it dawned on me that you posted this almost 2 years ago to the day and will most likely even read my reply. But if you do can you post the details of regarding how you temporarily affixed the door knob to the dowel. I'd like to do as much prep as possible before the playa and making the door knob prior would be a great help. thanks for the ideas, Rio.
