Cecilia,

K&K pick-ups were already in my mind.
However, using the big twin, you still have only one type of sound. It
is still not possible to, for instance, put the chien more backwards in
the mix. Still, I would very much like to hear a raw recording of your
HG equipped with the pick-ups in order to decide. So, if you please ....

By the way, everything is cheaper on the continent. The only backside on
the UK is the strong pound.
I would by the K&K's in Germany too, VAT is 19% instead of 21% in
Belgium.

Much obliged and please think of me,

Pieter

I have just ordered a K&K Big Twin from Germany (it's cheaper there than
in
the UK). It's made in the US, you can buy it from
http://www.bluestarmusic.com/. I have tried it in a music shop in London
and
worked well, without a preamp. Needs a bit of experimenting with the
placement of the pads, it can be permanently fixed, but not necessary. I
found it interesting that the chap used a thin layer of blue tack to put
it
on and it was OK.
This is by the way a good idea, to talk to a shop and ask them to try
things
out.

Cecilia
