Hello HG chefs, Although I still owe you a recording that I have just made today with my K&K, through a quite rubbish amplifier, as a result of many hours of experimenting, I'd like to go a step further.
Could anybody recommend a really affordable preamp + phantom power in one box, that is suitable to connect the K&K Big Twin and a headworn unidirectional condenser microphone with an amplifier? What specs I should be looking for? I don't really need the preamp with the Big Twin that much, rather want a separate box of phantom power, which solves some problems at gigs, I can use local PA systems without me carrying mine (which is, as I mentioned, rubbish). But once I invest into a phantom power, why not invest into a preamp with phantom power... Any ideas? Thanks, Cecilia PS This conversation about hots, pots, hotpots and other stuff sounds very interesting, although I can only guess you are still talking about hurdy gurdies and not your dinners... So, if you answer my question, please bear in mind my "high-level" of competency in this field:-) On 28/3/07 11:41, "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > The pot goes on the keybox side within easy reach of the thumb - a similar > arrangement is shown on my site, just click on the picture. > Cheers > Neil > http://www.myspace.com/neilbrook > > http://www.neilbrook.talktalk.net > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dave Holland" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 11:32 PM > Subject: Re: [HG] Amplification > > >> On Fri, Mar 23, 2007 at 05:45:43PM -0000, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >>> My tried and tested method is : >>> If you place small identical piezo pickups under drone and trompette >>> bridges, then take the hot output to each side of a 750k pot,the wiper >>> will >>> output a balance of your choice. >> >> That's neat.
