Actually, I'm hitting a similar problem. ( starting new threads with old
topics without copying the original messages is fun. )

I've used a rotated player for ages. But what I do is hook the renderangle
and orient it the way I want, and hook the input so it's in the player's
local coordinate system.

However, I need to get my hitboxes oriented properly. sv_showhitboxes
shows non-oriented hitboxes; whereas for eg vehices on slopes the
passengers hitboxes are properly rotated.

I'd prefer to be able to set some sort of abs orientation; which entails
the orientation of the hitboxes ( eg like setting a moveparent ). I tried
modifying the SetupMove and FinishMove functions to override the angles,
but that did not have any effect on the sv_showhitboxes 1 output.

Any pointers?
