Jason already posted yesterday: "While there is know ETA on a fix, YES, we know about it, and we're working on a fix".
Not a direct quote, but it should pacify you. ________________________________ From: Karl Weckstrom <[email protected]> To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 5:51:35 PM Subject: Re: [hlds] [TF2] Time out at map change Anyone can just roll out "something" to shut up the community. But sadly, that doesn't solve our problem. Look, this is simple. There's a bug. It's a SERIOUS bug that's doing ACTUAL HARM to game community server perception. Valve has not confirmed, denied or spoken to its existence, not even in an effort to keep us informed. That's it. Let's face it - for most, Perception is Reality. If people see servers disconnect them on mapcycle, they are not going to place the blame on Valve. They will place it on the server operator. It's actually a nice position for Valve to be in :) They can be 100% the cause of the bug, but we, the server community get to take 100% of the blame. Ideally, Valve should say "YES, we know about it, and we're working on a fix", then we, the community guys, could put nice little posts in our MOTD's and Websites that explain the situation. Everyone wins. It's not like i'm going to take down my TF2 servers in disgust. It's a bug, they happen, and we just want to know that it's being fixed or is at the very least on Valve's radar. But to leave us all in the dark over this? It benefits absolutely no one. We all lose. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jake E Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 6:13 PM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] [TF2] Time out at map change Hey, VALVe may not over great server support, but the free patches, updates, and mod support are something, aren't they? I agree the customer support is crap, though. But we can't take their great CUSTOMER support for granted.
