I can actually figure out my score based on what valve said on the blog
post, I keep track of all sessions on my servers.

I was bored, so I ran some queries on my player data and looked at all
player sessions, and came up with this for the past 30 days or so.

I have exactly one year of player session data to work with, and 1.2 million
sessions for a grand total of around 425,000 hours.

I'm probably going to throw in stats for how often the server is queried
(with or without a connection) in order to determine if I'm delisted or not.
I don't do anything malicious on my servers but if we've all learned
anything we are valves quality assurance.

There is bound to be some flaw somewhere that really only someone that knows
what they are doing will be able to figure out.

The main issue with me is the penalizing servers if a player is disconnected
due to something beyond his control. Basically, I only want to be penalized
if a player comes on my server, and leaves on his own cause he thinks it
sucks.

Not because of a vote kick.
Not because an admin banned him.
Not because he got an invalid steam userid ticket because steam went down
and everyone is getting disconnected from servers really fast.
Not because of a map change and the player has to go download the map.

Subject: Re: [hlds] TF2 Blog Post: Server Scoring

i think this is a good idea, if.

1. we can see our own server ranking so we know if we should be worried
about delisting.
2. protection is provided to defend against griefers as voogru has spelt out
accuratly.
