Haven't researched it, but I really doubt HLDS is IP6 ready. Valve is likely to NOT include IP6 support into it and let it die.
Which means that with the end of IP4 a number of (old) games will no longer be available. The problem is a lot of networks still don't support IPv6 yet. I'm on QWEST and I failed all the tests. Will Valve will be ready? Will they participate in World IPv6 Day? ( http://isoc.org/wp/worldipv6day/ ) It would be nice to have some time to start figuring out how this will be affecting the many communities, gameserver providers, and players alike in the following couple years. Will we finally see the implementation of DNS names in the server browsers? (That would be nice) Does anyone have any information on this? With over 30 million users on steam now, it would be nice to have at least a placeholder page up with some details!
