Remember that there are many tunneling methods implemented in IPv6 in order to enable IPv4 traffic transit, so don't worry for old games.
I don't know if Auth servers are still only in one location, that's a huge safety mistake your right. I'm sure that many new Steamworks game will support IPv6 before 2013, Source Engine too. The first games or programs supporting AND running largely on IPv6 networks will be those used in China, India, South-America because new subscribers of these countries will have either a crappy NAT IPv4 or a full IPv6 with IPv4 Gateway provided by ISP for accessing servers in the old protocol. Those methods won't be suitable for online gaming, going through a NAT of thousand homes or using a slow IPv4 gateway is enough only for browsing or chatting. In Occidental countries we will stay in IPv4 during a long time but IPv6 will spread and we will live with both, I have native IPv6 at home since 2008 and I start seeing more and more programs using it by default when possible. For summing it up, American and European companies providing services and programs using the Internet will be late in adoption of IPv6 compared to other countries, because most of them don't think globally. Valve, please participate in the IPv6 day by making your websites accessible in IPv6, and by releasing a beta of HLDS and one or two source games in IPv6. (I don't think that all your internal network is IPv6 compatible, nevertheless making a small test network for a beta is possible).
