I've read this on lots of forums but no one seems to have any concrete reason
why this is bad:
Is it true that running multiple servers from the same SRCDS installation is
bad? Does it cause stability problems? Performance problems? Lag? File corruption?
Can someone who works at Valve comment on this? Speculation from the community
varies too much.
I ask because i run a 3rd party modification server and im temporarily hosting 3
more servers for it, but i want to avoid making copies of the directory because
i have limited disk space. I had them all running from the same installation
but shut the rest down until i figure out if this is bad for
stability/performance. If i make separate folders for each server, but make a
symlink for the maps, models, materials and sounds folders to save space, would
that still constitute as sharing the same directory and possibly make things
unstable?
