My apologies for not saying Linux binary compatibility.

I have run servers both ways, as mentioned above.

I am also aware of many people who claim that FreeBSD has a higher
performance when running a dedicated game server than linux does, but
I obviously didnt do my research as you say. Can you give me some site
examples with performance numbers that back the claim up? Maybe with
your input I will be convinced to switch back to fbsd.

This is basically what i said (re: speed and stability of hdd). Thank
you Captain Redundancy.

Other reasons to use a SAN (or mounted log drive) include massive
statistical analysis without lag.  I notice you didnt agree that map
changes on one server introduce lag on another server. Way to point
out what's wrong without pointing out what's right.

I appreciate your alternative point of view.
