Define performance. I think the context you are thinking is not performance.
2. If you are running more servers than the amount of cores, i recommend to use the load balancer. If you run the same amount or less than the amount of cores i would use taskset.
Taskset is useful to prevent cacheline pingpongs and context switching on the same core.
