That's hardly a complaint. Just a polite request.
It would seem completely melodramatic to stop playing TF2 entirely
because of a new coloured text option.
I'd suggest the immediate reactions from others to the
(misunderstanding) that clients were getting the ability shows that
coloured chat, in general, is not perceived as a good idea.
Whilst their reaction to the coloured chat, are right in my opinion, I
think the idea the subset of people who can use it makes the problem go
away is flawed.
So, if your reaction to my post was because I gave the impression that I
doubt admins and plugin writers are more likely to use this feature well
than clients are, then I'm pleased, because that's exactly the
impression I was hoping to get across.
And if you think that plugin authors are going to go overboard adding
"stupid colors" then it's a pretty damned good thing that 99.8% of plugins
are *open source* isn't it?
That doesn't really help someone joining a server with a particular
plugin installed.
