If they even took a small step towards addressing the problem I'd be back on board for hosting Valve games. I left TF2 a while back because the QP changes made it impossible to recruit community members to replace those that sadly left. Community churn is natural.
Unlike custom game mode servers that can attract purely on the game mode or mods they are offering, there's little to differentiate community stock servers from Valve servers other than the community built up around it.
