Hi
I used to have an Edirol R-09 HR (http://www.roland.com/products/en/R-09HR/)
That's a nice machine but quite expensive.
Now I'm using the Zoom Q3HD (http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/q3hd/) That
records both audio and HD video, it's more portable and less expensive.
What I miss on the Zoom Q3HD is the recording volume control.
The zoom is very simple compared to the Edirol, but using the automatic
recording with the "one way down" option the recording calibrates on the
begining and that's it! People clapping on the audience make the volume
calibration, or if I'm on a practicing session I just have to play a loud
passage to calibrate. Usually the auto mode doesn't work because is alway up
and down. On the Zoom the "one way down" option is very nice and simple to use.
There's also the low and Hi setting but dey are to low or to high for the horn
dynamics. The zoom records to and SD card up to 32GB that is quite large for
audio but not so large for HD video.
