Hi and howdy,

Another 2 cents. I've had the lacquer stripped off of two of my horns. Here are the pros and cons from my vantage point.

It is much easier to take care of a lacquered horn. There's a reason they put that lacquer (or epoxy) there.

Unlacquered horns seem to have a softer feel and response. One of my horns was considerably lighter after having the lacquer removed.
