I have a new Z3100 (44inch) printer and am very pleased with its performance. However, I need help specifying the paper size when using rolls of paper. I specify image size and canvas size in Photoshop and then select a Custom Paper Size which is the same size or larger than my canvas size. Unfortunately, the image size and proportion as well as print margin sizes are unpredictable.
For example, I had an image size of 20inch wide x 16inch long and a canvas size of 24inch wide x 20inch long to provide 2inch margins around the image. Then, I selected a custom paper size of 24inch wide x 20inch long and expected to get a print having a 20inch x 16inch image with 2inch margins around the image from a 24inch wide roll of paper. Instead, the print had an image size of nearly 24inch wide x 20inch long with practically no margins. As another example, I had an image size of 17inch wide x 22inch long and a canvas size of 22inch wide x 27inch long to provide 2.5inch margins around the image. Then, I selected a custom paper size of 23inch wide x 28inch long and expected to get a print having a 17inch x 22inch image with margins at least 2.5inch around the image from a 24inch wide roll of paper. Instead, the print had an image size of nearly 16inch x 27inch with practically no margins at the top and bottom but 3.5inch and 4.5inch margins on the sides. What the heck am I failing to do to control the image size, image proportion and margin sizes?
