That, or no FW at all, the FW update performs a low level wipedisk prior to updating, if the update was interrupted at that point... HP goes all the way and a few yards further so you cannot tinker with their FW HDDS. HP-GL/2 upgrade kits earn them money, and PS licenses cost them money, so they prefer people not getting them for free.
