How can I install OpenGL 2.0 on my system?

I have ubuntu hardy 8.04. I've compiled pvQt from svn and everything
ok, but when I load an equirectangular image, I only got a white
screen, but no panorama.
I suppose it could be I don't have opengl 2.

thanks,
Sergi
