John

There are none that I can see, I did try to create an alias to another
user catalogue with a TSO command, there were errors and I do not know
if it did create one.

I also catalogued some of my files in ISPF but some came back saying
dataset not catalogued. The ones that were catalogued ended up in the
master catalog.

Cheers

Subject: Re: [IBM-MAIN] Catalog grief

After a nightmare catalogue restore, I have only my own files that are
not
restored. If I try to define an alias I get a duplicate data set name
IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLEK - 38

If I try to delete it I get entry not found
IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLEG - 42

Gene;

Are there datasets that exist whose dataset names begin with ALIAS that
you're trying to define?
If so, that'll cause the IGG0CLEK - 38 message and explains the IGG0CLEG
-
42.
