>Out of curiosity, is there a preponderance of one Linux over another under
>VM? One of the Redbooks discusses SUSE, other signs point towards Redhat. I believe about 2/3rds run Novell and 1/3rd run Red Hat currently. (Many customers run both.) Novell is quite popular in Europe due to the SuSE heritage, but they're both popular worldwide. Most customers choose whichever is most comfortable to them based on their experience and skills, support, etc. There are some software products that specify they require one or the other, but most vendors support both. If it matters, Novell Linux on z support/service is orderable through IBM Passport Advantage (as a software part number) as long as you're also ordering some piece of IBM software to run on it. The recent Oracle Linux announcement does not appear to have any impact on Red Hat Linux on z. I've tried them both and like them both. - - - - - Timothy Sipples IBM Consulting Enterprise Software Architect Specializing in Software Architectures Related to System z Based in Tokyo, Serving IBM Japan and IBM Asia-Pacific E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
