I don't want to change how JCL works. I want to totally eliminate JCL.
It stinks. I'd prefer some sort of "scripting" language, such as REXX
(or Perl or Python or ...). The main plus of JCL is its very
inflexibility. Why is that a plus? Because it makes something like CA-11
possible. I remember restarting jobs before CA-11. What is needed is
something similar that would work with an advanced "batch control
language".
