Many of us have decried jobs being exported overseas. Here is one in the
US that pays a decent wage. I agree this position is paying lower than
the norm for our profession, but is is still a decent wage. Many in this
country would *LOVE* to be making 63K anually. With some frugality, one
can live quite nicely on $63k/year in a market such as KC. One could
probably *not* do that in DC, Boston, Chicago, etc.

In Chicago area, $63K is almost enough to starve to death with a little
dignity. Maybe a clean bowling shirt when they bury you?
Well, I heard that Wal-Mart salaries start with 20k$ per year, I don't know
what area, but surely in the U.S.
When I was in Chicago, I spent less than $40 for food. I don't know the prices
of apartament rentals, but I believe you can find a hotel for $100 per night
(in fact mine was twice more expensive, but it was quite good one). So,
(40+100) x 365 = 51 100.
I think it is possible to save some money avoiding restaurants and hotels. So, I
believe, you won't starve to death and will afford to buy the shirt <g>
My $0.02
