About 18 years ago, a system programmer left one company that was a customer of 
a large ISV that had a policy of not hiring from customers for at least 6 
months after an employee leaves.
This employee came to work for us, and managed to convince our management that 
some extra education was needed.
Actually, there was a lot of jumping up and down that the SYSPROG needed the 
JES2 internals course.
Took it, left and went to work for the ISV.

Management was not pleased.

PS: A couple of months later this SYSPROG called our manager to attempt to sell 
us the product the ISV had developed.

Even less pleased management.
