Has the blksize of the dump file changed (via a JCL or dataclass
update)? Does a dump dataset contain data from only a single MANx or
could you be generating SMF data so fast that by the time you take the
dump you have much more data than previously?

Subject: SMF dump - output has duplicated its size

Hi,

We have an automatic procedure that dumps (and clears afterwards) the
MANx datasets (when 100% full). The size of our MANx Vsam datasets has
not changed. However, the last couple of days, the VBS dumped file
(output of IFASMFDP) has DUPLICATED its size.

If the source size has not changed, how can the output change its size
so dramatically?

The SMF records types we write has not changed. In our shop, allmost all
space in SMF datasets is used by type 110 registers (CICS). This has
allways been the case.
