Harumph.  "Services" are a NT (and its successors) construct.  In the
Unix world they're "daemons" -- Fedora sugar-coating notwithstanding.

IMO No.  If you have low expectations you'll get what you expect.  I
know that sometimes it's like beating your head against a wall, but keep
spoon-feeding them.  Otherwise you'll walk into the machine room (as I
did a couple of weeks ago) to overhear one of the operators telling
another that we had to "reboot IDMS".  Aarrgh.
