Many moons ago, I had AMRF active on a system I inherited. One day the operator does a D R,L. WTO buffer shortage, followed by an IPL. Since that day, I always use AMRF(N), and D R,R, never D R,L, just in case the devil AMRF became activated. I've never run across a good reason to use AMRF.
