However I have found the correct meaning.
To keep the discussion on topic: how many of us still use *real*
terminals? I'm not talking about models, just "hard" terminal,
coax-attached, etc. Not an emulator.
Personally I've been using it for MVS consoles till z196. Then migrated
to PC, because my 3174's were ESCON attached and z196 was the last
machine supporting that channel. FICON/ESCON converter was waaay to
expensive for that purpose. I also had 2074 (got it for free!), but it
was also ESCON-attached.
Obviously I migrated to ICC, but that mean use of emulators. Or
appliances - with built-in emulators, etc.
I have never had real terminal on my desktop. It was always some emulator.
