If you had 4 3270 devices, you needed 4 host definitions for each one - and 4 coax to the 3274 controller For a 3290 you had to configure 4 host sessions, one for each session - but only one coax to the 3274 controller. To the backend, a 3290 looked like 4 separate 3270s. (This knowledge is about 40 years old, so may be a bit rusty) Colin
