Can't say I blame you. I got rid of IMBED/REPLICATE many years ago from
all the master catalogs that had them, as "I" own them. But the storage team
manages user catalogs and they just kept putting it off when I warned them,
then IBM finally retracted their statement of direction. I can understand
their (and your) hesitation with tens if not hundreds of thousands of data sets
in some of the user catalogs in question.
Interestingly (or not) the health check still hasn't changed its tune in the
exception text (which I let trip still as a low severity exception):
"IBM intends to drop support for these attributes in the future."
