Don't do that Dave (all sorts of quotes from our mate HAL in 2001 come rushing in ...) Prior to z/OS 2.1 I was warned a small (CPU and memory) z114 would melt trying to run that combination. Apparently at 2.1 WAS trimmed down to being merely a behemoth. Could be lots of fun on a z9. Or not. As for Marnas plea to give HZR a go, I'll cut her some slack as we went through similar with the initial release of HC. It eventually came to be used by other components and is now more often useful. The (HZR) logger dependency starts to look a bit silly on a (non-sysplex) ring of 5 or 6 MONOPLEX systems. And yes, they do exist.
