How does the storage group look in ISMF? Are any volumes DISNEW, DISABLE, QUINEW?
How did you determine the are not in the pool or not being used in the pool? It sounds like some of your volumes may not be in the pool the way you think they should be. Do you have Chicago Soft QuickREF? It has a very nice Space display in it. It might be quicker to raise an SR with IBM for assistance. We cannot see what things look like at your shop.
