Peter, If SYSABEND and SYSUDUMP don't now and aren't likely to support 64-bit storage in the future, then what are application programmers coding 64-bit programs (well, 31-bit resident code that uses 64-bit storage areas, to be specific) supposed to use for abend debugging? IPCS? ISV products?
IPCS is wonderful for systems programmers who regularly have access to and are trained in the use of IPCS, but what about the many shops that restrict IPCS from being used by application programmers? How are application programmers supposed to debug dumps without access to the contents of their 64-bit storage areas? Never have, likely never will. <Snipped> Peter Relson z/OS Core Technology Design ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
