Do the cockpit lockers on the 270 communicate with the interior of the
cabin?

I think the simple answer would be no. The question is how the tightly
stuffed are thing like cabling ports. The ones I’ve found that are glassed
in conduit are fairly full. I haven’t checked then for foam seals.

There is a capped venting/exhaust/fuel/electrical/bilge pump outlet tunnel
under the after stateroom. It’s part of the hull structural grid and becomes
the shaft alley. It would be high and dry if you were on your side. Water
can seep through the tunnel but not flood through there as it just is packed
too tight. The rear wall of the stateroom has a removable panel to allow
fuel tank and steering gear access. Like the tunnel the access is screwed in
place so it could seep but not flood.

Did the Santana pitch pole outboard of the south tower ever make it to
U-Tube? It was such a good object lesson to read those charts and gather
local knowledge before you heading out.

Oh, if you (that’s an any list member you) start heading in and have to
thread your way past surfers you best do an emergency 180°.
