This past weekend, I finally completed the installation of my new Harken roller furler. Since the shape of the headsail is now pretty much controlled by the foil, is it necessary to have a backstay adjuster anymore? I would sure like to be able to have easier access to the stern ladder.
Also, I can't see much benefit now to loosening the tension on a downwind run, and I worry that it might cause problems if I forget to snug it back up before trying to furl the sail. Lee Scott '87 C-27 #6350
