I do a lot of race committee work for our club and NOYC thinks enough of our
work to stock the committee boat with beer, soft drinks and munchies.

What does this have to do with the drinks on board Gratis?

I have been lucky enough to cajole, beg, whine and bribe a slip next to the
committee boat and we can't have all that extra stuff cluttering it up now
can we?

I also like to keep a "handle" of Cruzan dark close at hand although it
often ends up on the committee boat, so that's a two way street.

My business partner and best friend has use of the boat, he likes Corona's
during the day and Crown at night and there are frequently leftovers.

Then there's John, a good friend, frequent visitor and our race committee
chairman, he has a close relationship with Jack Daniels, so there always
seems one of those bottles floating around.

New Orleans is not only known world wide for our food but also our coffee. I
can's start any day, much less one on the water without a couple of cups of
cold drip coffee with chicory.

Given that I "live aboard" on regatta weekends and my close proximity to the
club house, our club manager has discovered my cold drip coffee. She will
some times stop by with two cups "pre primed" with Jameson's before the day
starts to get hectic. Not to worry, there's no "hanky panky", she's dating a
good friend and she's buddies with my wife!

You never know what you'll find on board Gratis but there will be plenty!

Subject: [IC27A] What beverage do you regularly keep aboard?

The weather here in NJ is terrible today, so as usual, my mind wandered to
the boat. Of course that led to day dreaming about cocktails on the boat.
So, I wondered to my self, what do my Catalina 27/270 brothers and sisters
out there keep aboard thier boats to quench a thirst? Beyond the obligatory
water bottles and capri sun for the kids, and beer of course if we have ice
in the cooler, I ALWAYS keep a bottle of Pussers Rum aboard. Not only is it
quite tasty but the naval history almost makes it obligatory as a seafaring
beverage. So, what do all of you keep for those days when you want to have a
taste while the sails are full of wind and the kick of the rudder reminds
you why we all own boats in the first place?
Cheers!
Jeff
