Mark, I replaced the original Atomic 4 with the three cylinder Universal M-25 in my 1980 C27 in 1983. They didn't have any of the M-18's in stock at the time but sold me the M-25 for the M-18 price. Good news is that it does fit (with a little Skilsaw work) and is only 30 pounds heavier than the M-18 and I'm still using it today. Bad news is that to convert the tractor engine to the marine version is going to be verrry expensive unless you can find a junk yard M-25 with all the bits and pieces you will need in good condition. In addition to the systems already mentioned you'd probably need the Hurth marine transmission which Torreson http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/ lists for just under $2K. Pricing for the raw water pump and exhaust manifold are equally disturbing. Often wonder if I'm the only C27 with the 3 cyl Universal? Regards, Paul C27 #4452 Palm City, FL
