when we were on the last ride there was a big walking horse there that
did a pretty fast rack and when we were in the lead tivar heard him
coming up behind us and went faster, and faster, it was amusing me,
because I could see he didn't want to let that horse pass him. So i
thought well, lets see just how fast he can go, and I expected a
canter, but he NEVER broke into a canter, just trotted faster and
faster until I felt he had to change gears to get any faster but he
just held it and the horse zoomed past us, Tivar gave him the ears
back "up yours buddy" look and the horse broke gait and did a half
spin and we whizzed by haha. But he never cantered! So after that
with Sylvia i thought i would just SEE if I could get him in a canter.
But her horse was laid back and he was laid back and they would just
act lazy and it just seemed like the energy level was so low and
besides Sylvia's mare sometimes bucks when transitioning to canter and
I would feel bad about that!
