We have pure dirt footing. It's nice when the weather is dry. We just run a harrow over it from time to time, but it rains here in Oregon and you could plant rice on my riding ring in the winter.
It also gets hot here, although mid nineties would be more common than 100's. Forecast today is 96. I ride the TWH early in the morning and work with the Icelandics just before dark. I always wonder about folks who live in the southwest. I suppose they and their horses are more used to extreme heat. Nancy
