I wasn't being defensive, merely stating fact. I ride and post from the stirrups, as I'm sure a LOT of riders do, except upper level riders. I was saying this so people out there in the majority, like me, do not feel like their riding sucks. Reality and theory sometimes differ, and it's not a bad thing. Maybe I should start a new club: Stirrup riders of the world, unite! Now, when I feel my horse getting nervous, I sink in the saddle and flex my ankles and get my heels down, taking the weight out of the stirrups and become one with the horse. But most of the time - I am in my stirrups. Like I said, not being defensive (not sure where you got that!) just stating truth and reality.
